Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring condemned his actions, but stated that he accepted that May was not trying to hit the King. This isn’t the first time someone has egged British royals. Just a month before the Luton incident, eggs were thrown at King Charles III and the Queen Consort, Camilla, during a walk through the Micklegate pub in York.
The royal couple were visiting Yorkshire to unveil a statue of the monarch’s mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II. The event occurred on November 9, 2022, while they were received by the city leaders.
