Christopher Gregor Charged – Arrested
Micciolo falls off the treadmill several times trying to keep up. After Micciolo stumbles, Gregor grabs him by the shirt. Gregor also appears to bite the boy’s head. Gregor took Micciolo to the hospital on April 2, 2021, after he woke up stumbling, slurring his speech, experiencing nausea and difficulty breathing. The child suffered a seizure during a CT scan and efforts to save his life were unsuccessful.
The trial began with opening statements on April 30. The prosecution argued that the evidence presented in its opening statement would prove that Gregor killed his son.
“After hearing and seeing all the evidence in this case, you will be absolutely convinced that this defendant is guilty of abuse and murder because healthy six-year-old children do not just die,” Ocean County Assistant Prosecutor Jamie said. Schron said.
Defense Attorney Mario Gallucci said in his opening statement that jurors will be “horrified” after seeing the video of Gregor forcing Micciolo to run on the treadmill.
“Let me tell you right now, you’re not going to like him,” Gallucci said. “And I don’t care if you like him or not.”
Gallucci argued that Micciolo’s death was a separate incident.
“The evidence you will see regarding Corey’s death has absolutely nothing to do with that treadmill,” Gallucci said. After the opening statements, Corey’s mother, Breanna Micciolo, took the podium. She stated that she noticed bruises on Corey in late March 2021.
“There was a bruise on his forehead,” she testified. “It was a very odd shape. It looked like an impression. There was one on his chest. It looked like a scrape.”
He said he later applied for custody of his son.
“I was afraid for Corey’s life,” Breanna Micciolo said. Other witnesses called at the hearing included medical experts, investigators, and Gregor’s parents.
David Gregor said that he was left alone in the hospital after the death of his grandson Corey Micciolo, and Christopher Gregor went to Arkansas instead. David Gregor said he was trying to get his son to return to the hospital.
“I told him he had to come back,” David Gregor said.
Sergeant. Raymond Coles asks Gregor: “Do red marks turn into bruises?”, “Can your phone be tracked in airplane mode?” and “Can my car be tracked?” He stated that he made a call. He spoke on his phone in March and April 2021. However, the person who did not take the stand was Christopher Gregor. He declined the opportunity to testify.
